I've searched and searched, but can't seem to find the option to make the SPB "Now Screen" display on boot up instead of the "Today Screen". I know it's possible as i read it online, but can't seem to find the option within the Omnia.

Have you? Has anyone? Or is it just not possible on the Omnia.
 
before I go and do this spb shell....has anyone used it and then gone back to the default omnia?

what happens if I dont like it..? hard reset?:(
 
you can just uninstall it but i had a problem with one of the soft buttons not reverting on the home screen so i had to hard reset. didn't cause too much bother tho.
 
Stylus

Hi,

Thinking about getting on of these but I'm not sure about the external stylus. How many people are still having to use the stylus once the phone is setup? Samsung seemed to have put the effort in to get the UI 'finger friendly', is it really?

Also, another question for you all...

Does the phone have hardware 3d acceleration? Do you think it will need it for WM7?

i used the stylus during set up and havent used it since, somethings are occasionally a bit awkward to press full fingered but that happens once in a blue moon with me
 
I see a few of you mention "SBP" - are you refering to "SBP Mobile Shell 2.0" ?? If so, what are the advantages of installing it? Are there any disadvantages??
 
I installed the SPB Mobile Shell last night and it works a treat! (i purchased the full install - mainly to avoid any later difficulties registering)

Just a couple of things annoying me:

1) Having to keep re-setting today screen to SPB

2) Some common tools such as contacts difficult to find - or do i need to do some tweaking?
 
Hi All

First post!!

I have the samsung i900, I like the phone, however (8gb Vody) seems quite laggy.

Seems to make a difference if I turn off activesync, however thats not ideal

Does anyone else have a problem scrolling with the 4 way directional pad in outlook, it just seems to have a mind of its own, if I scroll down it seems to act like a page down rather than a down arrow (hope that makes sense)

I too found this a pain (for the contacts you don't set to quick call on the final tab). What I now do is press the call button and then there's a contact button straight off of that. EASY!

I just use the numpad in the phone to find someone , fastest way I've found :)

eg. I'f im looking for the name James just putting in 526

Nice and quick :)
