Sounds like some decent features to me :) Be interested how some of them work out.

About time I can be female :p Only been a 'he' in the game for the past god knows how many years if you include Champ :D Probably pretty pointless though as I can't think of one other female FM player I know :(

Si Games have now released a two part YouTube video as hype for the new game.

November 14th Release Date

The assistant manager is going to prove a big part on match day, helping you with tactics as your in a match and you'll be told what's working and what isn't.

Press Conferences and transfer rumours are in for FM2009.

Training has become a lot more in depth, you can now tell your players to learn specific skills... step-overs, diving tackles and one-twos.

Board Confidence is more in depth and now includes your squads harmony and club stature and current areas have been broken down further or tweaked.

All competitions/squads/finances are up to date with over 350,000 players and staff in the game.

GUI has been updated with added widescreen support.

Transfer System and Shortlists have been completely rewritten from scratch and should work better in general.

After 3 years of work and lord knows how long of fans asking, we've got a 3D match engine to play in - but we'll be able to switch to 2D mode if you don't like it :)

TV Mode is included, where you can just place the data you want to see on the screen with a fullscreen 2D or 3D match engine behind it, and the FM:Live Time Bar has been included.

The 3D screenshots looks a bit....well a bit pants :(

They are only 50% done so hopefully they'll improve the looks of the 3D match engine a little bit.

It's more important to view the 3D engine in terms of how much an improvement it is over 2D, rather than how good it looks compared to Pro Evo and Fifa.

I've played management games before with 3D engines and although the feature itself was quite nice, they were usually pretty poor.

I've good faith that Sports Interactive (and obviously the SEGA team working on it) will get this right and most importantly, steadily improve on it.

What I didnt understand is they said they have been devoloping the 3D engine for 3 years now but then say the video shots are only of the engine 50% complete.

So how on earth do they plan on doing the same ammount of work in 2 months or so

Just watched the video and looked at the screen shots. I didn't bother with FM08, but some of these improvements look quite good so I might give FM09 a try.

Developing it for 3 years doesn't mean coding it for 3 years. They could have done focus groups for a year, released extremely early previews of the engine to 5-10 people and get their opinions on it sporadically for another year. Then just been working on it this year.

edit: They could also mean of course, that what we're going to get in FM2009 isn't the finished article in the grand scale of things. Much like FIFA08 gave you a taster of the Be A Pro mode, where as EURO 2008 and FIFA09 have the full blown article.

He could be expecting to get it 100% complete and up to his standards in FM2010, as he knows whatever is released this year will be the first time the public have used 3D mode in one of their games, so no matter how good they get it this year there will be some improvements to come for FM2010 :)

Been a while since I played FM08 but what was it that identified you as a male manager? Couldn't you just put a womans name anyway in when you create yourself?

Terminology used I guess? "He, him" etc...

Can't say I've noticed much of it as the news articles don't generally refer to you as "him" or "he" normally it's "You"

Yeah it just says he and him a few times. That's about it really. I'm surprised they're bothering mentioning it really.

The video was recorded a while ago I think.

In the screenshots released there's one of a press conference held by a woman and she was asked questions such as whether she thought football was a man's game.

Was there any news on the demo? I assume it'll be a month before as usual which would mean mid Oct. Was hoping it would be this month though :(
