Esso Disney Mug, Whats so magical????

So about 5 years ago we exchanged a bundle of Esso point token thing for a load of stuff including these "magical disney mugs". And since it was called Magical we assumed it did 'something', so we tried pouring hot water in and it didnt exactly change colour, tried popping it in the microwave..... again nothing.. and 5 years have passed and i just found them again

So can OcUK tell me whats so magical about these mugs?
