8800GT to a GTX 260?

I've had my 8800GT for a few months, wondering whether it is worth getting shot of it before its worthless and upgrade to a GTX 260 (280 too expensive and not fond of ATI)

I'm assuming I should see greater performance in everything, most importantly in Crysis where I can only play on all High at ~30FPS

I play on 22" 1680x1050 and I feel the 512MB of RAM is restricting, GTX 260 seems my best option but apparently nVidia could be releasing another GPU (GTX 260+?) that fits inbetween the 260 and 280 performance for around the same price.

There is a new GTX 260 coming out apparently.

The current GTX 260 is a lot faster than your 8800GT though.

I'd wait for the new 260 to be honest see what its like with the price as well. I have a GTX 260 and it clocks very well and im sure you wont regret getting one. Im sure theres going to be a lot of people suggesting the 4870 in this thread

doubt 512mb is restricting you on a 22" screen.

Go for the 4870 or wait for the newer 260GTX
