Since i cant decide on which of the current cards on the market to pick i've decided to just clock my gtx for now and have some fun with it. as its worth so little now if its fry's its no major loss.

Never fitted a gpu cooler before so would be a nice little learning curve.
Which is the best cooler for the GTX.

Stock cooler temps just fly through the roof on even a tiny Overclock so aftermarket is in order i think.

never had any problems with the original cooler...even with clocking...im not sure you will get much higher clocks with a 3rd party one

There's no need to swap the cooler. If you do, the Thermalright is excellent - i've used one myself. It give much lower core temps and might yield a higher clock.

Take up loads of room though - 4 pci slots with the fan.

Beware the ram sinks on the HR3 ( the glue is pants )

I ended up taking both my hr3's off , they look awesome as paper weights.

I am using ye olde original heatsink , its about 10deg hotter than hr3, but at least I can use my PCI slots.
