Hazro HZ**Wi new firmware

meh, ive been contacting them for about 6 weeks and ive yet to hear back about updating my monitor.

They`re not that bad.
I webmailed them Monday with a couple of other problems, they telephoned me 20 mins later, which we discussed the firmware update may cure my other problems too.
From that conservation I was told to email support direct with my problem who emailed me back within the same day.
The very first time I contacted them via webmail, they emailed back 3 days later and a weekend was in the middle of that.

So 6 weeks !! you must be doing something wrong

People who have reported the issues will have had an email today, I got the confirmation today and have outlined what is happening below:

On or Before the 11th September the banding and sparkling HZ24Wi will see a firmware update. They have not decided on if it will be a user patch or sending an engineer out to do this individually. Either one of the 2 though.

For the sparkling green pixels issues the monitor needs to go back to Hazro as additional shielding on the IO board cabling is needed which resolves the issue the email states.

The 26" panel will see these updates a week after the 24".

It goes on to state that customers seeing both issues need to have the monitor sent to Hazro and they will cover collection and return.

So basically 11th Sept or before is when 24" fixes will be in place by the looks of it!

I sent an email asking about the collection as the email initially stated the costs would be customer end for postage and they replied right away stating additional info that the cost would be their end and not customer end :)

Not sure if this will work the standard swap out method or if its a send it in and wait scenario.
The wording in the email is vague.

So how do we know when OCUK's stock will be the 'fixed' items? Looking to buy one of these as soon as I know I'll get a sorted one.

I'm wondering this too as I don't really have a spare screen to use..

Unfortunately, i haven't received the e-mail from Hazro that has been discussed after reporting it last week - I guess i'll wait and see what happens.

I assume that the majority of people have the banding/gradient problem.

However can the green snow be elaborated - can it be tested for by using a particular image/movie/game/etc? (had a look at mrk video that shows the green snow - just wondering if it happens on certain occassions!)

EDIT

Having had a look and understanding what the green snow is, it hasn't occurred on my screen (yet!)

What's strange is that before I sent mine back for good, I only ever got the green snow in OSX. Maybe the onboard Radeon on the Mac Mini G4 sent more juice down the DVI cable?

The default Leopard background had green speckles in the dark patches.

What monitor are you getting instead philjohn?

I've already got it, I bit the bullet and got the HP LP2475w, posted my experiences over in the thread dedicated to the monitor.

I do miss the Hazro, and I'll probably get one again - but for now I need a monitor that just works and isn't going to need packing up and shipping back for a firmware/hardware fix. By that point it'll be a 30" I'll be looking at (after a few months, 24" just seems a tad cramped), and the Hazro pro range (26" and 30") are meant to be getting programmable LUTS before too much longer :D

what do you miss in the Hazro?
what is the HP lacking ?
I would've kept mine too but 450 for something with problems isn't an option for me either

anyone heard anything yet?

I was thinking today, his firmware fix is probably just to stop us all sending back via DSR tbh.

by the time the fix never appears were well out of a month.
