Company of heroes

Recently bought the gold edition in a high street second hand game shop for the princly sum of 99p. I think they must have labeled it wrong. Had to keep a poker face on while the woman scanned it through the till.
 
I can onlty confirm what everyone else on here is saying

its a brilliant game..challenging but never grossly unfair

I liked to opfor campaigns..and looks like there is another in the pipeline now..a tiger ace campaign.


skirmish mode also provides additional gameplay and loads of custom maps

co-op skirmish is great fun....custom maps available also include all of the original and new campaign maps..get the coh launcher and you can plays these co-op with friends as well so there is a lot of value in the package

yes morrisons is quite good for games, the one near me has COH and i just got Dirt for 5.99 from there, and peggle as well.
i want to get CoH it looks very good
 
The problem with the expansion is they made the original armies so well that anything would be a bit of a let down.... They are also easier to play

The brits camp, and are supposed to camp.. they are slow and have lots of buildable base defenses

The PE (panzer elite) on the other hand are fast and very light and actually get bonuses for blobbing all of their units into one huge blob of death.

This goes against the original designed of outflanking and our maneouvering you opponent

Still a very fine game dont get me wrong, the 2 new campaigns are very fun, i just prefer it when i have a nice classic US vs Wehr match

Ha, didn't realise you frequented here mate! It's Wills/RaZ from the old NM days back on CSS ;) I'll have to catch you on MSN at some point, not spoken to you in ages!
 
Another vote for CoH and Opposing fronts. I already had CoH but it was cheaper for me to get both of them off Steam for £14.99. Superb game with a really good game engine. WorldBuilder has meant that there a loads of maps and mods made by the community that really give a lot of extra life to an already fantastic game.

Play it most nights with my mates so if anyone wants a scrim add me to MSN and jump on our vent server. Also got a ladder starting next week just for fun if anyone want's to take part in that
 
Probably the best RTS game i have ever played, definately worth ~£15 anyday. Im hoping Dawn of War 2 will be as good.
 
definatly worth £30 but as said ive seen it for under £20 for both original and expansion. both games are easily the best rts i have played to date (i usually stay away from them) but this one i really enjoy playing. just buy them both and you have got a seriously good game. I would say at least 30 hours for single player. i havent even completed it yet because i enjoy it so much on skirmish mode.
 
Coh is in my top 3 rts of all time with ra2 and ta, i love the game but crap at it,for me it pushed the rts game to the next level from ta and ra2.
 
(insert wierd face here) i just cannot do the Skirmish's on EASY with 1 enemy, there WAY to smart.....and hard......any tips?

btw....boutgh the game earlier, just done had to destroy a convoy...
 
I haven't played in a while but generally you just need to make sure you dominate the resource points, more so oil. As soon as you roll the tanks out you've pretty much won. If you're playing as the yanks just spam out riflemen with the BAR upgrade. The suppress ability is deadly.

I recommend concentrating on getting good at one of the skirmish maps. Once you get a good feel for it you can easily adapt to different maps.

i havnt patched or got OF yet, allthough getting OF now...will take around 12hours...
 
Well you can do the campaign with the Brits and Nazis in the second one. On the first one you can play as the Nazis but only in the skirmish maps.

By the way if you really want to learn how to play in skirmish, just watch a few replays by good players. You'll see what it's about.

Where the hell does game this get installed in Vista? I'm trying to find the default directory so I can add my old game saves :o
