If I buy a Digibox...

Yeah...you might want to get a subscription too though as the channels are very limited without.

To clarify the sky box situation, you will need a dish and it will need to be aligned to the relevant cluster (in this case, 28.2e).

I would probably advise someone with zero knowledge of this that they would be better off with an installer. Dish alignment isn't difficult, but you will need a basic signal meter and some patience and some general understandings of where the cluster is likely to be. Perfectly doable, and even more so if you can see other dish in the area to get a start bearing, but you will need a basic meter and some patience.

I would also clarify what state the card is in as shown in the picture, is it still active in order to receive FTV channels. Although if you plan on subscribing to setanta they will send you a card anyway.

Okiedoke cheers.

My mate is a general handyman who I think installed his own so I may give him a call.

If he is a generally practical guy with some technical nouse then its not hard. Its very overplayed by "pro" sat installers. I use a meter which i bought about 5 years ago for £25, its a very basic needle which flicks positive when it gets a signal, but it does the job.
