FIFA World Cup European Qualifying

Saturday, 06 September 2008

FYR Macedonia v Scotland - Group 9 - 14:00 Setanta

Wales v Azerbaijan - Group 4 - 15:00 Sky Sports 1

Slovakia v Northern Ireland - Group 3 - 16:30 Setanta

Georgia v Rep of Ireland - Group 8 - 17:00 Five & RTE 2

Andorra v England - Group 6 - 19:00 Setanta

Well here we go. Qualification for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa kicks off today. Can Capello drag the English through a group containing their conquerers from the previous campaign? Will Scotland live up to their world ranking of 16? Can little Northen Ireland repeat their glories of the past two campaigns and finally qualify for a major tournament after a barren 22 years? Will Wales do anything? It's going to be a rollercoaster finding out.

Bring it on.

Can't see any highlights on BBC or ITV in listings for either England game this week. :(

Sky Sports have just got rubbish, and I feel I'm wasting my money.

In what is thought to be a first for England matches, the highlights of neither the Three Lions' clash with Andorra on Saturday Nor Wednesday's tie against Croatia are currently scheduled to be broadcast on free-to-air television after both the BBC and ITV failed to reach an agreement with Setanta.
