Catalyst 8.9 BETA (8.53) Vista 32/64, XP soon

So, can anyone else with 4850's in crossfire tell me if they get some pretty significant gains in Crysis? I am suddenly finding the game playable on very high with 4xAA at 1680x1050... 32-bit seems slightly better than 64-bit.

This is with my cards clocked at 690/1075 and Q6600 at 3.2GHz.

Just trying these out now, had the same problem I had with the 8.54's leaked earlier in the month where CCC wouldn't start, so I'm using the 8.8 CCC currently. Just ran a few runs of the ol' crysis benchmark and picked up a couple of frames in DX9 and raised my minimum fps by 5 in dx10.

Grid was smooth as ever, not sure if it was faster but it definitely wasn't slower. Going to try tf2 now see if it fares better than the 8.54's did. :)

Need a bit of help plz if anyone can advise?. I will start by saying I am a vista 64 noob so it could well be me!.
Wanted to try these new drivers so Unistalled old ATI drivers that came with 4870 x2 rebooted... screen just blank! can hear the pc has booted up just cant see anythig. take card out put 8800gts in boots up ok and everything works but obviously it wont let me install ATI drivers for my 4870 x2. I decide nothing to loose so put 4870 x2 and 8800gts in boots up fine and lets me install ATI drivers, take 8800gts out pc boots up again but still only with black screen?. I just expected to remove reboot - clean with driver cleaner - install new ones.
Any ideas anyone coz this is crazy.

i have Assassins Creed but i didn't know it was a dx10.1 game. is there away of of knowing it's running in dx10.1?

these 8.9 beta drivers are great. they made my screen clearer at 1920x1080..

It'll select dx10 automatically if you've got the hardware to run it. It won't be dx10.1 if you've patched the game though so you're best off not patching since you gain quite a few fps running in dx10.1.

Just can't get this 4870 x2 to desktop at all now and no ATI drivers are installed at all. it starts to boot up with the green loading bars then just goes blank. I can hear its booted up just can't see anything! wtf!!!. tried booting in safe mode as well but that just says waiting for like forever so its not working either. getting really fed up with this x2
