Ebay postal insurance is it needed if the person is sending Royalmail Recorded as i've never used it before and wondered if i should be or if it was a waste of 0.99p ?

Thanks

I always use the signed for service +72p

That way you can prove that the item has been delivered and it has basic insurance

- £36 I think

It's all too easy for buyers to say it never arrived if insured/tracked postage isn't used. IIRC Paypal/eBay only accept special delivery for the seller protection (Can anyone confirm, as I have some things to send too :p ? )

When you send something by any class of post you get a receipt of posting, which is proof enough. Insurance just means the value of the parcel will be refunded by royal mail if it gets lost.

As someone already said it's the sellers responsibility to get something to me and get it to me undamaged.

I'm not paying for the insurance! they can.

As it says on the ebay website, it isn't the sellers responsibility if something gets lost in the post, you have to deal with the postal service.

It isnt the sellers responsibility. I found that the hard way. The guy sent to my item to an old address. (Despite me checking my paypal receipt to make sure it wasn't my fault!) Ebay claims it was my error and the seller wasnt liable!
