So I sat twiddling my thumbs for inspiration on my next pc mod. Been very tempted in watercooling for a while now, but current case doesnt really allow for an internal jobbie. So i did some thorough research into what kind of case would best suit my needs.
I stumbled on a youtube vid from one of the forum members on here of his Mountain Mods U2 UFO case, and well.. to say it was love at first sight is somewhat of an understatement.
I'm glad I was sitting down when I found out how much they were though!
Still i didnt care, I had to have one!! So I phoned a UK reseller today and went through what I wanted (pannels etc) and so for the tidy sum of £330 delivered there's one on its way to me, was told to expect delivery later this week as they had all the pannels in stock I wanted.
So now i get to take my time and build it up as funds allow! I wont be getting that G0 Q9550 now! that money is gone in this case lol.
Still i can now sort the fans and grills out first, then move onto the watercooling setup. Initially going to run a singe loop cooling just CPU/Mobo with a thermochill 120.3 but will eventually add a 120.2 at rear and cool the GPU.. once i get a new one of that too! 8800GTX will have to see the year out!
I actually wanted to ask.. the case has space for 2 psu's... how do you run 2 psu's in 1 case?? Ideally i would run my main system off my 600W Enermax and the fans + wc loop off my 500W Enermax. (have a spare psu lying from second rig which im breaking to fund water!)
Any advice on WC would be appreciated.

lol this outta to be good:) I not sure why you would want to rad though, i would have thought one would be enough seen as it's a 120.3.
Have you got any pics of the PC that you saw that gave you the idea?

There expensive cases,i've just replaced my MM U2-UFO with a Lian-Li as i decided not to go with water cooling.

well looking forward to the pics.

the psu works by connecting the secondary psu to the primary psu. effectively jump starting it when you power on your computer. i cant remember exactly but i think they use a molex connection or something.

I'll post some pics when I recieve the case and get it assembled as a bare chassis. I'm just away to order a new hard drive for a friend so I will sneak in on his delivery enough Chrome fan grill's for all the 120mm holes... i cant remember exactly how much there were.. I think 9 external 120mm fans! Tempted to design my own fan grills though, and get them cut on the laser at work in 2mm stainless. Not even sure which fans I will use yet, but will probably end up getting ones with Blue LED's. The main colour theme will be blue fans, green fesser, red uv flexi round the hoses, some green UV sata cables from a friends DFI X48 since he has WD Secure Con. Will try and see what else as time goes by. On the visible 5 1/4 drive bays I plan to have Black DVD/RW, memory card reader, 6 fan controler, and that leaves a 2 bay gap at the top that will have a perspex cover with mountain mods logo on it, and behind that one of those dual bay blue UV reactive resevoirs.
Initially the case will be built up as air cooling only as I save up for the entire waterloop to cool the cpu/mobo. Water will only be installed once i'm happy that all the parts are here, and the entire loop has had at least a 24 hour test outside the case.
I'm initally looking at around £100 a month of a budget, but with just the fans and fan controler and grills being bought this month as the case has nearly drained me!

Had a few MM cases and you cant go wrong with them they are great for water or air cooling.

Didn't even know there was any UK resellers, I got mine shipped directly from the states!

Such good cases and give you loads of room to expand your computer and cooling setup. Who needs to cram everything into a tight case when you can have one of these babies :D

Heres a view from the front:

I wanted to go with the whole 'dual' thing, so I picked the duality front panel so I could fit 2 fan controllers, 2 reservoirs and 2 radiators.

The pumps are behind the motherboard tray. I haven't got a pick as they currentally are, but you can see their rough position from this picture I took when I was deciding where to put things:

Doing a dual loop build myself at the moment, went all out and bought the Ascension case though. MM cases are lovely :D And I take it those are DDC pumps with Flow tops ? :)

Very nice, though I see there's space for another 120.3 in the back ;).

With this rear panel there is, but I really want to change it for the standard one so I can hide the PSU round the back. I've emailed both Mountain mods and the UK re-seller I found to no avail.

Pumps are 12V Laing DDC-1T Ultra w/XSPC Acrylic Pump Top, but I wouldn't get them again. Had 1 completely fail and another started vibrating a lot! Luckily I've got them both resting on 'gel stuff' which cuts out any noise (also stopped me having to drill holes into the case or stick them down to the surface).

Ok time for an update. The case isnt hear yet unfortunately, but I have all my stuff ordered up. Here's what i've got on order (note, not all of it is from OcUK sadly)

9x 120mm "Value" clear fans w/blue led's (will see how loud the are, so might replace later)
9x 120mm Chrome fan grills (no dust filters, compressed air once a month is cheaper!)
1x ThermoChill PA120.3 with the barbs to 1/2 inch.
1x XSPC Dual 750 Bay Reservoir Pump & 1/2 inch barbs.
1x Swiftech Apogee GTZ Extreme Performance CPU Waterblock.
8 foot of Masterkleer 7/16" ID 5/8" OD PVC Tubing.
1 x 12-20mm Hoseclips Pack of 10.
2 x Feser One - F1 - Cooling Fluid - UV RED 1L
1 x Scythe Kama-Meter Multi Functional Controller

So all of that should be coming on tuesday, so will post up some pictures once I get stuff & the case. Might start a new thread and have a build log, although I think I will start it in the "cases" forum though, as that just seems more appropriate.

The reason behind choosing the XSPC res&pump is because it is nice and compact rather than having the pump located externally so it keeps the inside of the case a little more organised. Secondly its cheaper! and im sure the lower performance in comparison with a top of the line standalone pump will not be an issue when only cooling the CPU and chipset. Guess the second loop will come with the next gpu upgrade, probably some time next year, and perhaps a processor upgrade at the same time, unless i get a cheap Q6600 on the MM.

THE UFO HAS LANDED!!! It's all assembled, well the bare shell and you know, I can't believe how light the whole thing is!!
Photos will now be started in a new thread, once (if) I get my digital camera back from the ex-girlfriend!
I was going to use my old one but it doesnt like vista (its not the only one)
The fan's have also arrived..turns out they are just cheapo Casecom ones with 4 pin power cables, but they are clear plastic with the blue LED's and they will do for now. Just under £3 quid each! so I can't complain.
All the WC stuff and fan controler should be coming tomorrow im hoping!

I'd also like to add I got a Antec 300 case for my m8's mum's new build that i'm doing, and i've got to say, cracking case for £40!! 2x 120mm fans already on it, and space for another 3!! My only gripe being the fact the PSU is at the bottom and her bloomin 4 pin 12V cable for the CPU ain't long enough!!! so i think i'll just extend the cable rather than fit a new PSU. Also like the Low Med High switches on both fans!
