Have they fixed Gears of War yet?

I have the save game bug, after you exit the game all my saves are lost, REALLY annoying. Everytime I played it I would have to edit files to start at a certain point. Got sick of it in the end and stopped playing it. Windows live thing is useless.
Game istelf was average IMO, very repetitive you just run hide behind walls for cover then shoot, repeat.

Thanks. I think I'll give it a miss then. I was hoping they had patched it but it sounds like they haven't.
Epic abandoned it ages ago & have patched it twice but sometimes the save game bug returns and not easy to use someone else's either because of Windows Live saves (Gold level is now free as well on the PC).
Also on Vista Vsync is broken with this game unless you force it with Riva Tuner D3D Overrider which then breaks the game so that it CTDs because it detects this and thinks you are cheating so no way to get the online achievements unless you want bad screen tearing (no vsync is much worse than usual as it uses an unusual method to detect the max FPS then tries to be clever and set it according to some formula in an ini file you cannot edit as the game detects this and refuses to even run if you tamper with them).
As others have said the game is not really worth the effort anyway. Just shows the huge gap between PC & Consoles when a highly acclaimed title on the 360 is very average on the PC even when its the technically best version available like this one is!
