Hi, I just dropped one of my old CPU's a Athlon X2 3800+, some of the bents (maybe 10) slightly bent - So I just got a old mobo put it in the slot pushed a little harder and hey presto it fits. - Will this cause any problems for the CPU or will it still work? Can't really be bothered to check just looking to sell it but don't want to sell something faulty.

Then just hook it up quickly and make sure it at least posts.

Guess i'll need to what a pain, if it goes into windows and prime stable it for like 10 min quick run test am I to assume its fine?

How dare you damage my old CPU :p

Lol, its my one mate, I had mine and then yours, found both CPU's were fine - was ram issues, bought a new mobo but ram I then found out was not compatible, got bloody P'eed off and just bought a new C2D system lol.

i had three bent pins on mine and pushed them back. my mobo is working and overclocking fie. only thing which is susspect is the temp sensors. one seems to be a lot lower than the other

Bit daft pushing it in the slot trying to fix it, could have snapped off a load. Should have used tweezers to bend them back.

I remember back in the 939 days people used to snap pins right off by accident. All they need do to fix it is to put a thin bit of wire in the slot on the mb for the missing pin. Worked a treat.

Done this loads of times to my old A64 3500+. A pain to bend them back but it still work every time. The only reasons the pins bend it becuse when I removed the stock cooler the paste (artic silver 5) was so 'sticky' the chip would stick to the cooler & come off the socket when it wasn't supposed to!
