Windows left open on car and now it smells damp inside. Tried a full clean and have had no luck.

Seen a bunch of solutions including baking soda and coffee!! Doubt they will work though.

Any suggestions?

your full clean can't have been very good, try again but harder ;) You will need a wet vac.

I used some of that Vanish shampoo thing and my usual interior cleaners, hoovered it and used car freshner. All it has done is cover the smell.

This wet vacuum doesn't happen to throw out shampoo and suck it back up at the same time does it? My friend said one of those car wash places may have one but its like £30. I don't mind paying if it works though.

Had the same, leave the heater on full to dry it out. May need to leave the window open slightly for the humid air to escape.

Worked for me.

Tried that, still has the smell. I don't even want to drive it!

I've contacted a detailer who deals with interior issues like this he says around £50-75 so see how it goes.

Has it got air-con? . . . Even if not if your able to just circulate the air inside the car you can get Air-conditioner deodorisers that you set off inside the car and leave about 30 minutes with the air-con on full. It will kill the bacteria that causes the pong.

The smell goes within 10 seconds of the air con being on but I have tried leaving it on for 30 mins, had no luck trying it.

The dampness overnight went deep into the carpet and cloth so it needed more attention, hes been and done now.

Smell has gone and cleaned thoroughly, will find out tomorrow if it will stay that way.
