Can't get flash videos to show/play

I have just installed Ubuntu Gutsy and installed Shockwave Flash but when trying to play a vid i.e. Youtube. Nothing appears. :confused:

It was Firefox but I just installed Linux Mint instead so all sorted.

Why did you install Gutsy? It's quite outdated now.

Just use the package manager to download the flash plugin.

I tried to install Hardy but I got a message saying something about the kernel not being suitable.

I used the disc that they send out.
