House door alarm - how do you lock it?

this might sound stupid but I just moved into a new house which has the alarm thingy. I need to go out out but I cant lock the door and nobody is at home atm.

I got the key + code but no matter how I try, I cant turn the key at all. Is there any procedure I need to follow to lock to the door? never had this before so I dont have a clue

Does it lock from the inside? If so use the back door.

Or read the manual?

Can't you just go out without setting the alarm? Shut the door like normal and open it with your key... :\?

So you moved into a new house, got all computer + internet setup but you never found out how to use the front door

lol, they are such a pain, my girlfriend spent like 6 hours in her house due to her rent got a new door when she was at uni, and had know clue how to use it lol

Ha it was the handle all the time, i have to say i havent fallen for this one but im sure my time is running low

funny thing is I thought of the handle but only tried to pull it down, not up

a burglar will just break the window anyway.

dont see the point in these fancy doors with the claws that lock into place.

there's not much point over a good solid door with a decent lock/hinges but a door that can be kicked in is a real weakness

but a lot more convinient for carrying stuff out of, and a crap door having the lock kicked through wouldnt make much more noise than a window of climb-throughable size being smashed
