Now considering the dollar rates current situation this is an incredible deal for an 8800 GT alone, except this is an Asus model with their Glacier cooling solution, full retail boxed supplied with Company of Heroes game. :)

Fantastic deal Gibbo. It's amazing what you can get for your money these days, excellent stuff. :)

Oh and when can I have my ATI Radeon 4870 back? I'm desperately and patiently waiting for it hehehe. (If that makes sense) :p:D

ahem ahem :D

is a great deal for anyone looking for a good budget card though
i thought my old 8800gt was incredible vfm at £160!

also gibbo - would you consider stickying my graphics card warranty guide?

Wow, I paid £175 for that very same card just before Christmas. Damn if only my motherboard did SLi, I would buy that puppy now. Think I may just get a 4870 for Christmas this time around. Great deal Gibbo.

A very good deal, but I think the 4850 is even better value for money (at around 110 on this week only). But this is probably better if you have an SLI capable board and already own one :)

I have a couple of these cards and neither of them overclock that well (max out around 680) they also use some proprietary sensor interface so you can't read the core temp with normal tools... mine also won't take the 1.1v BIOS mod - screen goes corrupt when entering 3D mode and you have to use the asus tool or gainwards cardexpert tool (works for some reason) to overclock them - with rivatuner or ati tool the screen would go corrupt even increasing by 1mhz.

On the plus side the cooling is very good and pretty quiet.

And I haven't even given opposing fronts a try despite having 2 copies of it :D

Does anyone know what cooler these cards come with as apparently on the reviews for these cards some people have reported a different highly praised cooler on these cards than pictured.

Thanks

This means all 2nd hand 8800GTs in the for sales forums must be £40-50 quid at most and not the insane £65-75 "brand new prices" Ocuk members are ditching it for !

;)
