4850's are all 6 pin right?

Was having a look at the this week on HIS card, http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-099-HT and trying to see if it is 6 pin. I assume it is, as from my quick googling it seems that all the cards are 6 pin, but thought it would be best to check

How are HIS as a make by the way? Not used their stuff previously.

Reference design is a 6-pin. Doesn't demand enough grunt to require an 8-pin.

No idea on HIS. I'm happy with my Sapphire.

why would 8pins provide more power, i dont see the point in it, but im sure its not because it can give more power

the gainward 4850 GS has an 8pin power supply.

I dont know what the GS version is, but the Gainward 4850 OCUK are selling is 6 pin.

6-pin is rated at 75W, 8-pin at 150W.

Is the extra cash of the HIS that Loadsa mentioned worth it over the 4850 that is 111 on TWO?

I am hopinf the card will give me a nice boost in a few games from my 8800 GTS 320 MB

The stock cooler is rubbish unless your case is like a wind tunnel.

The HIS ICEQ4 is overclocked out of the box and has a cracking dual slot quiet cooler on it that blows the air out of the case, so id say its worth it.

Ok, I just purchased the card which Loadsa (and a few others) recommended

Obviously taking full advantage of the rather excellent next day free delivery, and with the cash I "saved" put it towards a new headset

I am running Vista 64, with (as mentioned) a NV 320MB 8800 GTS, should just uninstalling the drivers be enough, or is running driver cleaner recommended?

A great purchase.

Yeah your best of running Driver Cleaner (or DriverSweeper) as well to get rid of the Nvidia leftovers.

Am really looking forward to this new card I must say. I have been putting off this purchase for a while now, but finally crumbled.

Am hoping a few games like Crysis shall at the least be playable now
