Hey guys, I need a recommendation for a good quality gaming mouse! I've had a Microsoft Habu for a long time now, and in the past 3 months or so, it constantly disocnnects its self! I can hear the sound as if you've unplugged a USB device and then the mouse dies and then after a few seconds it will reconnect again! I did a search and it seems this is a problem with most Razer mouses, is this true?

Can anyone recommend me a good wired gaming mouse? Ideally I'd like to spend no more than £30 incl. tax, but if it's worth it and gonna last a long time then I will spend more?

razer deathadder best gaming mouse so good it just unbelievable different from all razer mice and i think mouse of 2008 or 2007 cant remember.

and for your old mouse if its not older then 2 years rma it and u will get new one as i did with my coperhead

Never had a problem with any razer mouse and i've had 3.

The deathadder that i'm currently on is fabulous. Smooth accurate tracking - far better than any mouse i've tried.

That said the 518 mentioned above is another great mouse too - if the deathadder's just out of your budget then it's probably the best alternative.

Had a Habu and it did exactly the same thing, its a loose wire and its because the design is bloody stupid. Its a known issue with them.

Because of this, I wont touch razer stuff again, hence my recommendation.. Logitech :)

I have a Logitech g5v2 and a g5 before that and i cant fault them at all. Personally i really i didnt like the razor diamondback i had because of the ambidextrous(sp) shape. I aint sure if the newer razor mice are like this.

I've had the same problem with a Copperhead, now on a Habu, has been fine till now (about 5 months).

MX518
G5
G3

I have 2 Habu's and both are fine ( for now )

I tried a Razer Lachesis Banshee ( Dont recommend it - feels way to weird in
your hand - caused me cramps)

i just got my lachesis today off our mm

its brilliant
been using it all day at work to get used to it

after about 30 mins i was completley comfortable

i do like the deathadder for righthanded play as the lachesis feels a bit wierd for the way i grip on the right hand side of the mouse
i can see why they charge a lot for it tbh!

Thanks for all the recommendations! I'll have a look through them all!

Regarding the RMA'ing it! I've not got the box at all, so I assume this is not possible, even though the "Order Date: 5 Sep, 07, 12:11 pm" as quoted in my OcUK Order history?

Logitech accepted RMA for an old G5 I had, which was over 2yrs old I believe.. Didnt have the receipt and they just took the serial dtls from the bottom of the mouse. Maybe worth a try :)

As usual, there is no right answer to this, its personal preference, but the logitech G5/MX518 are reviewed to be very good and from Razer it has to be the Deathadder (I've got one myself and its a very good mouse).

My Habu did this too, RMA'd to the retailer.

You could potentially open the mouse and pull the cable into the mouse more and glue it if you want to try to repair it. I did this to my mx518 and it did fix the problem.
