I intend to buy a ~£700 system with 5 components from OcUK and 4 from another retailer (mobo psu cpu os). I would rather buy it all from OcUK but the prices are about £8-£10 dearer on the said components.

I couldn't find any information regarding price matching on the main site so I thought I'd make a post :)

drop them a web note matey,

they may drop the prices on the site, if said competitor actually has the items in question in stock.

You will probably find the answer is "Our stock is pre discounted for your convience" :p

i tried once to get them to price match, back when the e8400 was considrably more than some competitors for a short while, and i just got a simple but effective reply!

"unfortunately we do not price match i am afraid"

but still it would be worth a try i recon?

I usually find that Overclockers can't be beaten in prices anyway, and if they are more expensive it's usually only by a tiny amount and therefore would prefer to pay that little for the security!

Not trying hard enough. Saved roughly £30 for just one item. OC seem to have good memory prices though, and a decent range.

Not true.

Also, I wonder if they would price match their own stuff.

Just had a little play around with their pre-built systems whilst bored, and I can get from them, a pre-built machine in their overclocked range £250 cheaper than if I order the exact same specs using their PC Builder set up, with the only difference being a 650w PSU rather than the 720w option.

Of course its cheaper to build the PC and overclock it yourself . . . .

That wasnt the point I was making. OcUK offer pre-built systems and the option to use their builder service so you can choose different components. The point I was making is that by adding the exact same components to their PC Builder option that you get on one of their pre-designed setups you are paying an additional £250 for it.

Some could argue that it is the build cost, however, as they will be building them both it doesnt come across as a feasable option.

Obviously I know that you could buy all the components individually and build it yourself, but there are plenty of people out there that cant, hence why OcUK offer this service.

ive been looking at overclock and they seem really good for price, some stuff is a bit more expesive but if you buy from lots of differnt place you may have to wait for some items

Probably true with some systems, but by putting the same parts into their system builder, mine would have cost more than the pre-built pre-overclocked one was.

I have often found competitors ship outdated versions of products, probably to clear out stock. I have never had this problem with OcUK :)

I don't care about the prices when ordering from overclockers, i order because i know that if there's any problems with anything recieved they are more than happy to sort it out, quickly with no hassle.

Also i place an order, and the next day it arrives.

I found OC to be good on price, but I wish they had more deliever options. have sometime bought from somewhere else because of free del. When you but something small
