Tell me about : Derby Uni

Man their advert annoys me. Cumb tuh Darbeh. Derby isn't even that north!

I went for an open day thing and it just seems like a specialist college. They were bragging how they cater for disabled/challenged people and it was pretty nice inside, but I would try to get somewhere better.

I know some people on that course. From what I hear from them it's not particularly challenging. I get the feeling from them it doesn't require much more than 4 brain cells to do it.

Plus, Derby uni is in Derby. Nuff said.

Derby is a nice city nowadays (lot of reconstruction work recently) but the university is nothing special, as people have pointed out it tends to be good in certain courses.

I'm not sure about other courses but I'm going to do games and it seems to be one of the best in the country for my course. The accommodation is really nice and the uni seems to be very modern and 'up and coming'

It may be 98th or whatever but Oxford or any other posh uni doesn't do the course I want to do.

Ah, right. Now that I do know something about. We have two gap year students from the Games course working with us at the moment. Judging by them, it's a pretty decent course. They seem to have been taught the right kind of skills to make them useful members of our team, and have broadly positive views of the course and the university.

Ziggy! he was a good tutor of many :D

The systems architecture lecturer is very Intel biased. He gave my coursework a B because i proved how AMD pwn't Intel at the time. :)

Network lecturer was useless though - everyone would leave the lectures wondering what he was on about and he would often forget things related to the module but yet expect you to know them. Hopefully he has left by now..

Just out of interest where do you work?
