last of the card vendors got back to me this morning

a lot of them speak 'verry guurd engrish'

the rule of thumb it seems for the board partners with very little in the way of a warranty section on their site is that they just stick to the bare minimum
so for uk/eu - a 12 month warranty is all you get

some also mentioned that their warranty varied from card to card thes included palit and xpert vision

its taken ages :P

to be honest most of the wait was due to the time its taken companies to reply

HIS (aka Hightech) /Warranty - 1 year warranty with retailer *HIS cards all come with a multi tool*
when i bought mine it had 2 year with overclockers and HIS now how do i go about that, ive emailed gibbo 3 or 4 times now and he wont even reply nice of you gibbo bet you would reply if buying something of you,so is it just 1 year now then if so of to CAB to see if overclockers have done anything wrong which i think they have,

p.s nice graph with all the info on it

The only warning (of a sorts) I can find about Overdrive:-

ATI said:
ATI Overdrive™ for ATI Radeon™ HD 2400 Series and Later
To help assess the performance of the graphics card, ATI Overdrive displays the current GPU and memory clock speeds, the percentage of graphics computing power currently used, and the current temperature of the cards.

CAUTION:
If a GPU is being used at or close to its maximum capabilities, or if the card is running close to 110 ºC, do not increase the GPU or memory clock speeds.

Why hasnt this been stickied yet :S

rjkoneill, if you want me to pop this into my stickied thread then please let me know:

1. I'll put it at the top
2. It will be fully quoted and credited to you.

Obviously it would make sense to sticky the thread as it is, but this might be a good compromise.

nands - thanks for the input - i appreciate it - was having a hard time finding that info
[nearly used it as an excuse for an ati card :D]

melbourne720 -

its very kind of you - see if one of the dons puts it up whilst i continue to work on it - if not then i will take you up on your offer

Anyone know much about Force3D? Is that the company that went bust a while back and you have to send stuff to Hong Kong for RMA?

i think with gigabyte [the way i read it anyway] it depends on the card

that would make the OP complicated so im going to leave it

i know a lot of manufacturers offer a longer warranty on their high end cards than they do on their sub £200 range

im not sure why that is the case - the question was raised in all the emails i sent to amd board partners - they skirted round the subject

i agree completley though - even if i void my warranty as soon as i get a new card anyway!!! ;)
