I remember, earlier on, you said that Bengals are very intelligent (based on experience of your previous Bengal). I said that mine is pretty daft. In fact, my Egyptian Mau is much much more intelligent than my Bengal.

Based on your experience of Ace, do you still stand by this?

My Bengal is proving to be pretty smart. He's 16 weeks old and can open doors and plays fetch with a ball. He's also taken to climbing up a glass panel door. A strange mix of kitten madness and real intelligence I'd say :D

BF Bert, your Bengal looks very Egyptian Mau-like. I sense that he has a strong genetic link to Egyptian Maus. His head shape is almost identical to my Egyptian Mau. That and the spots make him look like an Egyptian Mau, more than a Bengal.

He's a good looking cat.

That explains it then. I would love to have an F1 or F2. Those cats razor sharp.

I own a Bengal and cant help but feel that Bengal's are so far removed from their ALC roots now, they are extremely dumbed down now. In fact, such is the extent of this dumbing down process that my Egyptian Mau, who has been domesticated over 1000s of years (from Egyptian times) and has no wild blood in him, is more "wild" and sharp than my Bengal.

Heres my little kitten shes 9 months old now but shes so god damn cute! and she only cost me 40 quid :)

the marking on some of those bengals tho are gorgeous!

She is 9 months old?

She is tiny.

A lot of people actually go for the cute, small, tiny kittens. When I picked out my Egyptian Mau (whose parents were already very small), I asked which kitten got reserved first. And the smallest of the litter was pointed out. Apparently people didnt like the one that I went for because he was too too hyperactive and dominant.

If the kittens were brought up in the wild, the smallest and least dominant (not necessarily the same) will probably die before they reach adulthood. For this reason, I always go for the most dominant or the largest of the litter. They are more likely to reach an older age, especially in a multi cat household.

In a multi-cat household, there will be competition for all sorts of things, including food. There may even fights and scraps. A submissive and weak cat might get beat up pretty badly while in the house and if it goes outside, it is more likely to take a hiding.

A fit cat, whose senses are razor sharp (selecting the right breed will give the cat a massive advantage in this area) is less likely to take a beating or come out second best when competing for things such as food.

All in all, I think its best to pick the fittest cat you can.

nah shes 9 months old now, these was just various pictures i had!
