Classy cases? Thing of the past?

PC-A70B:

well a couple of competitors are doing them, AND will price match...(trust)

im buying one and getting it modded by him aswell

his name is tom, shops in southwales.

after the debacle OcUK have given me, for a simple DSR refund, by being charged £21.15 for it on top of the 4850 form my card, and not refunding me for a month, you can see why i am recommending him.

;)

the geek in me want is, it like a boy racer computer case, i think it would make me look cooler  lol

Are these still not available in the UK, i really like the look of these. Last i heard they went bust :(.

Afaik one of their suppliers/partner constructing company or the like went bust a few years back so they ceased production for a while until they found another company. They didn't didn't have health and safety certification to sell in the EU I think, so not sure on the legality of getting them here... Apologies for vagueness!

Agree with the OP that it's bloody difficult to get a stylish case. It's actually quite shocking how little people care about / notice clean lines and a minimalistic appearance.

One of these? (NZXT Hush)

Ahh, my eyes! Oh my lord what an ugly case.

I have a black CoolerMaster Praetorian, pretty much the same as the original poster but with brushed panels.

That's what I have too, very nice. Just upgraded some components and got a TRUE which won't fit (side panel doesn't come on) so I've ordered the P182.

The NZXT Adamas is quite a fine looking thing too.

Not to mention 2-3mm alluminum construction!

Very nice indeed! Would have gotten than if not for the fantastic cable management of the P182.

I agree with OP. That 201 looks gorgeous.

Although the ATC 110 was my favourite I think:

Again, a very fine case only beaten by the cable management of the P182.

i love the look of some of the windy cases myself. i think some of there cases are really classie

Very very nice!

I love a lot of the Lian Li cases and currently use a heavily modded V2000 (with water and phase cooling). Windy cases are also damn nice. But it's HTPC cases that get me going at the moment. You can't beat cases such as;

Moneual Lab MonCaso
SilverStone Lascala LC18
Silverstone CW03
Omaura TF11 (with motorised screen module)
Zalman HD160-XT
OrigenAE S16T
OrigenAE S21T

:)

hmmm basic, as in no plexi side panels, or any other fancy stuff?

As long as you don't count motorised 12" touch screen monitors embedded in the front of the case as 'fancy stuff' then yeah. :p And my v2000 does have a custom plexi window showing off the Phase cooling head with embedded LED lights, so that might count as fancy. But generally, minimalism is good.

I love quality looking cases plain maybe but never really go out of style, lots of steel or ali and as little plastics as possible. I have only once had a window in one of my cases, I had a large mid tower case back in about 1997 and was bored with it so I used Corel Draw4 and designed a scorpions tale that I cut in the case and used perspex behind it was fun for a while.... (that had the first item I ever bought from OcUK as well it was a P2-300 clocked to 500 with 2 60mm delta's strapped to it)
I know I bought an Antec 300 its not exactly classy but I have seen a lot worse, plus I had an excuse .... Antec 300 and 4870 or a expensive nice looking case sorry but for me performance will win everytime on my limited budget.
