Which aftermarket cooler for 4870?

Heyy, that doesnt really apply anymore i suppose. ive modded the bios to give higher overclock limits and i also moded the fan speeds so it idles about 50oC, im not sure about load though, im just wanting to run it a lot cooler as people ive seen are runnin the core at about 840MHZ and mine crashes after an hour of gears of war @ 810MHz
thanks

If you go water the d-tek fuzion 2 gpu block is VERY good

I have the version 1 block and would highly suggest you purchase a full cover EK block instead (i'll be putting mine in this weekend). My reason for this is that whilst the GPU is running in the mid 40's (load) my ram is in the region of 120

Obviously this is not good.

I've installed four Akasa Vortex neo coolers on two 4850s, a 4870 and a 3870, and there've worked perfectly everytime. Easy to fit, cheap, and quiet and allow (to varying degrees) a bigger overclock than when using the stock cooler. The accelero S1 is also very good but obviously works differently and you have the extra cost of a fan if you don't want to go passive cooling.
Both very good coolers and superior than all the stock coolers :)

Although not modded the 4870 quite yet, I just put the Accelero S1 on my 8800GT and with some fiddling managed to get two Xilence 120mm fans on there. Not yet installed but the overall quality of it is very good and I'm expecting to get plenty of OC headroom when I get the other one I bought on the 4870. Lots of good reviews out there on the Accelero with very good temperatures even when pushing the card.
