How often are you using your car, and you're just thinking "This is the wrong tool for this job."

For example, me getting in and out of Delta Force Southampton on Sunday, and grounding out all over.

I'm interested to see if anyone has ONE car that meets all their needs.

My Prelude was always the wrong car for job, except when putting the foot down :)

The Jag on the other hand ticks all the boxes ;)

I don't like my car on the motorway any more - it's rattly and loud and that's why I'm getting rid of it soon. I'd say at least 60% of my travel (distance-wise) is on 70mph roads :( It's a horrible feeling when you stop liking your car :(

Agreed, far too often they resort to whatever the sales person is pushing/looks best/they think they'll like rather than what is logically the best option. Then again i've had significantly more fun in the illogical choices i've made than the logical ones :)

Then if someone on Ocuk says 'why' there is a huge flame war on the premise that nobody knows better than the buyer (Who just bought the wrong car) :D

All the time lately...I was standing, waiting for the train, then sitting on the train thinking 'I could really do this so much quicker and easier in a car.

I really dont think people spend enough time chosing a car.

You say that...I've been looking at cars for the last few months (as -westie- and Phate know too well :p), and will be buying in Jan, and knowing me, will end up buying something completely useless at everything...like another low powered Peugeot 205.*

*I'm determined to avoid French this time around. I've never really had any problems with them, I just want something better though.

Well i was chugging up the road this morning, in the rain, windscreen wipers smearing the rain across the screen, engine coughing due to being cold and lack of choke (carb issues... stupid thing), no heater, windscreen misting up, no radio. Went around a left hand bend, and all the water collected in the sill sloshed across, through the gap at the top of the bulkhead all over my trousers. Then came up to a cyclist which I couldn't overtake as I didn't have the power up the hill to get past safely before the blind bend, so ended up following the cyclist for 60 seconds up a hill at 8mph.

The thought did cross my mind that point in time that maybe I have the wrong vehicle :)

(Series IIa landrover btw)
