How often do you think; wrong car?

Keep your head screwed on with what we were talking about last night mate and your onto a winner! :)

I've forgotten. :D

I think the current one I'm looking at/thinking about is probably the best...plus, with a couple of tweaks it'll be faster than yours, and hopefully handle better. :p :D

I really dont think people spend enough time chosing a car.

I think sometimes its more of a case of there isn't a single car that fits every criteria. Also when I say criteria I include self defined criteria which limit your choices such as age or mileage.

My car is everything ive ever wanted in a car.

Its comfy, carries 4 people in total comfort, has features of more modern cars, tows my caravan down to le mans, then helps friends move house when needed, its also more than quick enough for my needs, and is pretty fuel efficient. Its cheap to buy, even cheaper to run, insurance is cheap, and no-one will steal it!

My car was a great purchase, when I got it I was planning on doing many, many miles, and with it being a diesel it would have saved me a fortune, I later moved right next to work and now mostly walk everywhere. It was clean and tidy with no rust. I've let it slip cosmetically but I will make it nice again, but I can get 5 people in, it's as slow as anything, the road noise is terrible and it squeaks and rattles, the handeling is great for what it is, but it's a first car non the less and I would have had it over a 1L 106, Micra, Saxo etc. :)

plus the heaters are awsome :D

Oh sometimes the fact it only has 2 seats can be annoying when i want to give more than 1 person a lift!

On the other hand it normally means someone else gives me and everyone else the lift.. so its not all bad!

When I come across a deep ford or a muddy field that i really want to drive through, try anyway, and get stuck in the middle. Then I think "wrong car".

The only car I made a mistake buying was my Fiat Coupe 20VT. Bought it at a time when I needed my money elsewhere, but ended up spending it on the car....it was a money pit and not practical at all when I needed to carry things such as a mountain bike.

Is that why you replaced it, again, with a Civic Type-R, which you previously said you hated, only to realise once you'd spent £10k on it, you still hated it? :p

Well this is it, ive had better, faster, more modern cars, but still go back to the volvo. Not planning to get anything else.

Same here, like most small saloons my car is rubbish, I can't even get larger boxes into the boot.

Otherwise it's fine, would be nice if it cornered a bit better.

A large box ? I can't get a shoe box in my boot much less a 'large' box and don't get me started on what is alleged to be a glove compartment, 2 CD's in cases won't fit!

No matter what you buy it's a trade off, that said handling and grin factor make up for a lot in my case, even if it's people usually grinning at it thinking i'm mad.

Few suspension mods and some better wheels with better rubber than stock should see it holding the road...we'll have to test it out once I've gotten one and done some mods. :D

Sounds good :D

By that point I'll at least have decent rubber and maybe coilovers...see how things go this week :p

Be fun either way, just don't ditch the damn thing! :p

I've got a Fiat Punto JTD. It's slow and the engine is loud. I like it, but those two things start to annoy me. I get around 40-45mpg around town and 55mpg on the motoway, so I'll keep it until I gradaute. :)

Far more likely that any one persons "ideal" car doesn't exist, or if it does it's outside of their budget. My requirements are always pretty simple but very, very few cars I can afford fit them.
