...you get really annoyed, maybe even angry when people say they didn't like them or words to that effect?

I've found that this has happened to me a lot lately with The Dark Knight, i've been getting mildly annoyed when people tell me they didn't think much of it.

Other films off the top of my head were Vanilla Sky when it first came out, this film had a profound effect on me due to some serious emotional issues I had in my life, really annoyed me when people were saying it was rubbish.

I'd also have to say that when Toy Story first came out, a lot of older people were saying it didn't have the charm or imagination of traditional cell animation, I had many an argument about that.

Pulp fiction and city of god.

I know what you mean about toy story etc; I get annoyed when people dismiss them as being for children.

Had a chat in the pub recently with some mates on the same subject, most of us agreed that it depends on the context of what is said, how its said and what reasons / arguments one has for disliking it.

For example theres a guy on the fringes of the group that we see maybe 3-4 times a year that simply loves to be controversial to the point that if anyone recommends a movie or sees it before him then 99% of the time he'll dis it because "it wasnt HIS film" or "he didnt suggest it" or "he didnt spot it first", it's now quite funny, so he'll just **** loads of stuff off

Then theres some who love to be a windup, the type that prob haven't even seen the said movie but claim to have and that it was crap, just to get a reaction

However if someone puts forward good reason with examples etc then they are worth having a debate with, if light hearted at that even if you both totally disagree on your fav movie

And then sometimes I think films are taken tooooooooo seriously and really dont give one

I love it when you get those type of people who just like to dis a movie you like. I knew someone who did this to me, and I asked them about what they thought towards certain key parts of the film, and he couldn't answer because he hadn't even seen it. I found it quite shocking and hilarious that he made the effort to say the film was crap and overrated even though he never even watched it.

The Blues Brothers, how anyone cannot like that film is beyond me. Hell, apart from the duo themselves it has Princess Leia with a rocket launcher and a M16! :p

You're forgetting James Brown as the priest. If he was my local vicar (won't ever happen now though :( ) I'd to to church every Sunday! :D

Pirates of the Caribbean.. amazing movie with great story line which people say is for kids? :| Easily one of the best trilogy of movies I own.

Harry Potter.. again, great films which people arrogantley say are kid films and are retarded.

Apocalypse now for me, some people just have no taste.
Oh and the dark knight was nothing special at all, nowhere near as good as batman begins I found it quite predictable and boring actually.
And Heath Ledgers performance is incredibly overrated not in the same league as Jack Nicolson's joker performance.
In general I found the Dark Knight quite uninspired.

Well PoTC is a family film but yes brilliant (although the third sucks)

Harry Potter is a kids film, it is aimed at kids. Some adults may enjoy it, thats fine. Its still a kids film.

For me it has to be Fear and loathing in Las Vegas, has to be one of Depps best performances. Most people i know say they hated it.
