S.T.A.L.K.E.R Clear Sky - Gone Gold

I don't get why people say "just add the ultra high settings later on". Whats the point, I'm currently running on ultra high and enjoying the experience, if you're having difficulties running it on max, turn the settings down . It's quite a scalable engine, so what if you can't run it at 'maximum' details, set it so its playable.

Well said.....!

Think I've already had my point backed up :)

There is no issue with having them there, its better to have them there initially, than having to use a hack, or wait for a patch.

No mention of the bug which prevent access to the Cordon.

stupid bloody saved game thing!...lol. i dont care though still loving the game, will still add the patch and just start again, as i'm sure there are things i've missed.

I am happy with the performance. I am not so happy with much of the gameplay features. Many missions are bugged and fortunately so far they have just been side missions.

The whole dynamic mission thing is starting to do my head in. You get the message to head out somewhere to assist or defend some strategic point but by the time you get out there the mission has been cancelled or they all dead. This is happening all the time and I am just starting to ignore these. I am waiting for a mod that allows me to carry more so I can make my cash from selling pick-ups and not from missions.

I am at the point of holding off on until some major or player mod patch addresses factions and mission gameplay. Apart from the graphics I do not think the game is an improvement on the original.

How hard is it for you to disable them?
If I buy a game now I want to play it now, not have to wait 6 months for a videocard that can run the game on Ultra as by that time the game will be finished or uninstalled.

But the more I say about this the more people will jump on my neck so I guess it's better not to say more about this as I am clearly the only one.

The settings are there for the people with dual GTX 280s, or 4870X2s (can you even crossfire these to get 2x 4870X2 ?). I tried everything on full (DX10, every setting on, every slider to full) on my lowly 4850, at a low res 1024*768, and it wasn't too far off being playable. So I'm sure dual GTX 280s or 4870X2 could run it 1680*1050 on full.

Here's 4870X2 handling full settings at 1680*1050 just fine, nearly 50 fps average-

You do realise there are settings below ultra maximum very high don't you? And the game is still playable on those settings, and still looks very nice?

Blimey, Dx10's a crippler.

That was with EVERYTHING as high as it would go, the dx9 shots had few this turned down a little bit + when i do a screen shot with fraps it takes about 10fps of the screen!!!

i really dont think my 3870x2 is up to much with dx10
