Iv had a tagan easycon 530w for 2 and a half years and it just went bang! My system was probably drawing less than 300w all the time as well,

Lucky their warranty is 36 months ;). Going to RMA it. Will the replacment have a brand knew 36 month warranty?

Warranties are from the original time of purchase, so you will not get another 36 months, just continue from when you bought the first.

Most companies will extend the warranty by 90 days from when you recieve the goods back - so if you're less than 3 months from the end of the warranty period you'll probably get a few days extra.

Hi

Out of interest did it take out any components, only asking coz i'm running a tagan 480w that is about the same age.

Nope everything was fine, as soon as the knew psu went in it all booted up again. Maybe i was just lucky.

Just out of interest what is the purpose of the manually switch-able split or combine 12v rails on these psu's and when is it correct to use each setting? I mean mines was always on split and I was wandering if that cause it to fail?

no that wont caus the bang. and a good psu is one that goes bang but only takes it self out.

well doen tagan.

on the other hand.....i had a Qtec, and £1000 worth of shiney new items....
