The one that got away

What about the girl you never dared to ask out due to lack of courage, then never saw her again after telling yourself you'd definitely ask her next time.

:(

I had one of those a few weeks ago. I was at a party and he most stunning girl I've ever seen walked in. I was actually lost for words. I'm a pretty confident chap and i don't usually have a problem talking to women but I was so intimidated by her looks I just stood there speechless

You will probably find most guys think like that and wont even dare speak or ask to really hot women. should have had a couple of drinks and dived in there!

Alternativley, actions speak louder than words:

You shoulda whipped your nob out and slapped it on her face. Hot women are attracted to that (or so I heard).

Never tested the theory to date though; perhaps someone can prove or disprove this piece of speculation?

Many a year ago (well about 10 :) ) a girl I had a crush on in school started working behind the bar at my local* and we got chatting a generally got on very well. I was at the end of a relationship (I wasn't sure at the time) and so never asked her out. Then she left to work somewhere else and I had no contact details for her.

In hindsight I really should have asked her out as the sings where clear and she had a rack and ass to die for.

I smile fondly when I think of her.

* 3 mile walk into the moor!

I was over the moon at one particular girl showing an interest in me, however as you say it was short lived and I actually saw her true colours..
She was after money and I was too blind to see it to start with but then one of our mates won the shell card competition and she was all over him like a rash... I lost interest after that.

Shame as she really was both fit, intelligent and amazing in other respects too. ;)

Although I do have one Ex of a three year relationship that I let go for stupid reasons, but meh, once she had made up her mind there wasn't a lot I could have done about it..

Yes, her name was Kirsty.

She was my first proper Girlfriend and i treated her like **** and just used her and i really wished i hadnt, as looking back on it, she was lovely.

I really wish we had just met a couple of years later when I had grown up a little.

Thanks for the advice guys! ;)

Just to put it into context, the party was in the west end, a birthday celebration for a page 3 girl I know. So you've got a room filled with all the page3/zoo/nuts regulars, I'm sober, I've come straight from work and this stunner walks in, I didn't know what to do!!

I know what you should do, boast about it on the internet a few weeks later while pretending to bemoan your horrible luck. :p

Still better luck next time. :)

So why was she with a bloke that just works Saturdays running a rolling road machine? :p

Cheeky **** :D
edit to add 30 cars at £35 pr car.. you do the maths ;)
anyway I wasn't working there back then, I used to put up steel buildings for a living.
I'm sure you've seen the famous image of blokes sat on a steelwork about 20 floors up having their sarnies, well that was me a few years back.(not literally, as that pic was taken in the 20's lol and I ain't that old)

On another note, facebook really doesn't help, all your memories of conquests and "almost was" come flooding back.
Thankfully the one that really did get away isn't on there yet so it isn't too hard, however I have text her (she still has the same number 8 years on!!) and she has had a kid and is "almost" married now..
The knife twists.........

:p :p :p

I'm not bemoaning my horrible luck, i'm sharing with you the fact i'm an idiot for not taking advantage of a situation that most people would never find themselves in. I only added the context because under normal circumstances I have no problem talking to women. However, given the situation I was genuinely intimidated. Logically there was no reason to be but sometimes logic doesn't come into it.

I've met you, and you dropped my USB stick in your pint...so I think I'm allowed to be cheeky. I thought most of that money went to PS not your pocket? ;)

If that picture did have you in it, damn you've aged well. :p Never could do a job like that, heights...wrong.

I know what you mean about facebook, it's like a big kick in the teeth sometimes when you see people from years back. Did find it amusing though when an ex added me on facebook and it then turned out she was engaged and all sorts.

I have the same number I've always had, and I've had it for about 6 years now, can't be doing with getting people to use a different number, much easier to keep it the same...plus I don't need to remember it. :D

I met a lass whilst I was still with my ex. We hit it off straight away, she called me the next day and carried on trying to call me for the next two days. I never picked up because of my darned ex. I've not met a girl like her since. I no longer have her number and often think about how awesome it could have been had I just got with her and ended my crappy relationship at the time (2 years is a long time to walk out on though...).

This is a good thread, didn't necessarily expect this sort of banter between a (mostly) guy based forum, its good to see.

To answer the OP, yes this has happened to me on more than one occasion. Last girl it happened with was only about 3 or 4 months ago, still a bit hung up on her! She goes to uni with me and being the muppet that I am I was too keen and scared her away a bit. She got back with her ex, then when she became single again I decided to play it cool and not be overly eager. Only problem is I played it too cool and I suspect she thought I wasn't interested. Now she isn't interested and we don't really talk any more :(

This is a good thread. Glad to hear other people have had the same experiances :p

Most of the time for me its I seem to uninterested or scared to commit. Im so ***** stupid. Two absolute stunners aswell...Dammit.
