GTX 200 owners may get a refund

Anybody would think it was your money they were refunding RizlaKing...

The fact that Nvidia partners have offered refunds on the cards in the US and now in the UK tells you all you need to know. For a GPU company to be offering refunds on retrospectively overpriced cards is unprecedented, so there must have been something in it.

Yes there was something in it we all know they were ripping people off with the prices but that didn't stop people buying them even knowing that so why should those people now get a refund lol. People were not forced to buy them they did it on their own accord and like all actions it has a consequence which people now want out of i don't agree with that.

Actually, you don't know that they were a 'rip-off', as you don't know how much they cost the board partners to manufacture.

We all know they are expensive chips for Nvidia to produce, and for all we know the RRP was probably calculated in the same way as their previous efforts.

What happened was that ATI launched some competitive cards at very aggressive price points, but then you know this, and Nvidia had nowhere to go on the price.

The poor old consumer was the one copping the flak, so actually I think what the board partners have done is a good move. It's not uncommon in other sectors. Indeed, as I mentioned earlier on in this thread, I myself was the grateful recipient of a partial refund when Audi lowered the price of the original TT shortly after launch...

I still don't know why it bothers you so much that people are getting refunds though? It's a GPU, some people brought it, and the price went down, and some people complained. Nobody is demonstrating on the streets demanding governments do something about it, but good on some of the board partners for actually looking after customers for a change. Lol at the 'actions have consequences' rhetoric!! :)

Just got mine too $120, payed £470 mind. :p

Had forgotten all about this rebate until I got the email, lucky I checked the Junk folder it got thrown in with the spam.

Considering my 260 cost £270 and i got 89USD back i would have thought you would have got a lot more back.

True. :D

Well I was one of the early adopters so I paid full whack, the main thing that annoyed me was that in the period of time between me hitting the order button and ****** link actually delivering it the price shot down about £50, so £60-70 rebate will do nicely. :)
