I have a bottle of Yellow Tail shiraz from Sainsburys, currently with a few quid off down to £4.49 which isn't a bad price. Had it before. It's a shiraz which is a full bodied red with a bit of sweetness. This one has good full bodied taste, not too much acid with a bit of sweet spice, dark fruity taste and a good strong 13.5% alcohol hit and a little tanin at the end. This would make a good starter wine if you want to try a red.

I've had a couple of glasses already, hic ;), a splash in my onion gravy with my bangers and mash and it's starting to feel like Christmas.

Does anyone want to join me for a tipple?

I don't get that. Red wine just makes me all warm and drunk feeling, no aggression at all.

Gives me the worst hangovers ever. Having said that, I'll only consider drinking once I'm drunk on someething else, so maybe I'm being unfair.
 
I got three free bottles of wine last night because I sorted out some virus problems on a laptop. Two bottles of red, one of white. Problem is, it's mid week and I have to be up early tomorrow for work, so no wine for me tonight. Maybe Friday or Saturday. :)

Came back from France a few weeks ago with two 5 Litre boxes of Côtes du Rhône at £5 a box.

Clean, fruity & light with an oak finish. Just added a tipple of it to the Lasagne Sauce and shall be throwing a few glasses down my neck whilst having a DVD fest with the wife. :)

Another thing. Red Wine is great for a cold. Drunk in moderation of course. ;)

I might need to try that.

One I had a few weeks ago was Southern Comfort and Amaretto. Sounds like a really weird combo but it works. Hard.

Sounds quite good actually...but I have neither...I need to stock up on alcohol, but whenever I have the chance I think 'well I don't need it, so don't buy it.
