I seem to have read every book i own now several times so has anyone got any recomendation on history to read. I would ideally like something on Romans, the Falklands War or something like the A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson.

I notice you have said Falklands War, may I suggest you look a little closer to home and read about Northern Ireland, there are three books I would recommend, Loyalists, Provos and Brits, by Peter Taylor.

Romans - go for anything by Adrian Goldsworthy, The Punic Wars, and Caesar, in particular.

Along the factual line:

Brian Greene - The Elegant Universe
Richard Dawkins - The Blind Watchmaker / God Delusion
Niall Ferguson - Empire: How Britain Made the Modern World
Joseph Campbell - The Hero With A Thousand Faces
Alain de Botton - Status Anxiety
Paul Roberts - The End of Oil
