Hope I'd never have to post a topic like this :(
Filled up my first loop last night, got some leaks from silly mistakes however I drained and refilled today and all of the leaks seem to have gone, except one on the in barb on my D-Tek Fuzion V1. It doesn't leak at all when the pump is off, but when the pump is on there's a slow drip from the bottom of the barb. I snipped off the end of the tube and tightened the barb however it didn't want to go any further. I'm using jubilee clips with 1/2" tightened to pretty much the max however they're not over tightened. Any ideas about what I can do about this leak? Specs-
D-Tek Fuzion V1
Laing DDC-1T 10W Pump w/ XSPC Top
Thermochill PA120.2
Crap Generic UV Blue Bay Reservoir
1/2" XSPC Tubing

Hi mate, Could you not replace with 7/16" ID.. I know it means drainning off the system but i will be a tighter fit and assured.

Edit,.. sorry i mis-read.. It from the barb :(

did you use ptfe tape when putting the barb on?

it's really thin tape that wraps around the 'teeth' in the screw part, filling any small gaps between the barb and the block

costs about 50p for more than you'll ever need

a must for all barb connections :)

is the leak coming from the barb or the tube? (obviously only test with no components attached)

Honestly I can't really tell whether the leak is coming from the barb or the tubing. I'm gonna take the block off the board now and clarify whether it is or not. Unfortunately I don't have any PTFE tape however I'm willing to drain the loop as it's really not a problem. Huddy, don't suppose you'd have any spare PTFE tape you'd mind me collecting off you? :)

you can get it in any DIY / plumber shop

basically if some sells pipes & connections, they'll sell PTFE tape, some will know it as 'plumbers tape'

^2nd pic gives you an idea of how fine it is.. can usually wrap around about 6 times, and screw in tightly :)
Looks like that's what I'll need, strange how it doesn't do it with any of the other barbs (none of them have PTFE tape on). Will try and get out to B&Q tonight, after having a closer look definitely looks like a leaking barb.

I would check its washer. Tho it could be a faulty block. If it is then hopefully the tape will fix it.

I don't think so. I doubt there's anything thin enough that you would want to put in your loop. Go grab some from B&Q.

I hope I don't have this issue when I do my first watercooling build soon. What are the odds of getting a faulty block/leaking thread?

Got some PTFE Tape last night, no leaks whatsoever :) Currently leak testing although getting some flow issues with water coming down from the rad back , through the res and into the pump. After that the flow is fine. Is this because of trapped air in the rad? As the rad is the highest point of my loop I have the bleed screw off, is this correct? Here's a picture -

that's a hefty kink there mate, really bad to have that..

which direction do the water go?... from cpu -> pump -> res -> rad? (looks like that)

that's a bad way to have it.. should go res -> pump -> rad -> cpu -> res
