i know it myt seem like a silly Q but for the extra money will it last and be worth it getting the ati 4850 as am on a bit of a buget...?

I'm not just saying 4850 cause I have them but seriously 4850. Here's a little story, I was playing around lastnight and turned off crossfire. Forgot to re-enable it this morning and was playing COD4 maxed out. I have v-synch enabled and at times got a little stutter. Thought maybe the map or ping. Guess what I play at 2048 x 1536, so not bad for a single card eh! LoL ;)

Haha such a good point you posted it twice...

..anyways u convinced me (friend) been ordered :-)
 
Very yes - the 3850 was anything up to about 2.5x faster than the 8600 GT, the 4850 is around twice as fast as the 3850 so I'd imagine it'd be a pretty significant upgrade.
