Samsung Omnia I900 owners thread.

1/ I couldn't figure this out - But i have the bottom right touch key set to "home". So it's only 1 click away.

2/ Hold the bottom right hard key in for 3 seconds.

Do all networks add VAT onto the bill? My £35 a month contract is actually £41+ after VAT has been added, what the .......

your contract works on a pro-rata basis, so the first month is more expensive, as you paid for the few extra days you had it...

If I went for a 8Gb omnia and bought a 16Gb card for it, is it slower at accessing the card than the internal 8Gb?

Maybe after the end of September more operators will be able to offer the 16Gb version??

How to get DIVX to work? Went through the whole registering code and downloading a file to activate the phone, but the phone refuses to play it stating that it's not an authorised device for DIVX. Anyone got any ideas how to get divx working???

Hello All, this is my first post here. I have found this forum really helpful.

I got an Omnia from Vodafone as an upgrade last week and it had a number of issues, naff Wi-Fi, pin lock call answer problem and eventually 3G issues.

I followed Thoughts upgrade procedure and most of the problems went away, I had requested a replacement N95 8MB but rejected the delivery on the basis of the improvement 'cos I do like the Omnia.

I still have one issue left which is that my browser can't connect to the 3G net, I downloaded the Samsung config for Vodafone and that hasn't fixed it. Can anyone help with how I should set this up, one thing I saw on Vodafone's web site is that the modem should be set to GPRS/3G but I can't set it to that, the drop down box won't drop.

Thanks for any help.

I'm pleased to say my I900 came today and surprisingly, I'm getting on pretty well with it thus far. The first thing I've found that I don't really like though is the SMS setup which seems to give a chatlog type of view.

Does anyone know if its possible to use the default Windows Mobile view for text messaging instead?

Can I ask what the phone is liking for reception/signal? I had a samsung 2 odd years ago and it was rubbish in areas with poor coverage. I have the Samsung Soul at the minute and its utter crap for working in areas with poor reception.

I could sit on the sofa watching tv and still use my previous Nokia's. With this Soul, I have to stand at the windows to get reception.

So what is the Omnia like for reception pickup? Its the reason I normally choose Nokia's as they are fantastic in areas with poor coverage.

Cheers.

My reception is very good.

Yes there is a .cab you can install to get rid of that sms style, google nonthreaded sms or add me to msn and ill send it you.

I've added you to MSN as one I downloaded from the net after some googleage doesn't seem to work :(

Just ordered 2 from T-Mobile for work; I'll get them tomorrow morning :D

Makes a change from always having a Nokia phone. Bye bye 8800 SE!
