Just seen this on the news this morning that XL Airlines has gone into administration. Given the destinations (Florida and the Med etc) it goes to some peeps may already have flights booked with them in the future.

Edit. Just found out my colleague is currently locked in Orlando as his flight got grounded 10 minutes before take off. My Boss is also due to fly out to Orlando in a few weeks.

My parents had flights booked with them for next week.
Gawd knows what they will do now.

Lots of people out of employment too! It sucks!!!

It is surprising though as petrol prices seem to be going down now.

I saw this on the news this morning - feel for the people must be a right gutting feeling.

Wasn't there another air flights company that went into administration earlier this month? (or possibly last month).

We have flown with TC to Orlando before and they where very good, we have been thinking about going back to Orlando recently, my mums friend has a holiday booked for Orlando next month, gutting.

Plus all these firms going bust just push up the demand for more established airliners.

At least they will have the option of alternative arrangements/refunds etc. My friend is a 1st officer with them, even more gutting for him because hes probably going to lose his job.

YES!!! THANK **** FOR THAT!!! TRAVEL CITY ARE THE WORST PEOPLE TO WORK FOR!!!!!!! OMG! The owner is the biggest *** hole I have ever met!

its only a small company, you just dont know it, was based in swansea and made 1 office in the north and then done cheap deals with XL, I HATED working for them! Worst working conditions, a contract that means jack ****! They literally fired a guy because he brought hot food into the canteen and when he was asked for the reason why when they sacked him they said they didnt need to give him a reason as his contract said they didnt need to!! No idea how to run a company! Their team leaders are just idiots that used to work on the damn phones and have no management skills what so ever, and their human resources manager! OMG WHAT A *****!!!!!! She'd shout at you if her tan had faded!

Worst company I ever worked for. and thats saying that AFTER they gave me a free holiday!

To be honest I'm glad, this company is the worst Airline I have ever flown.

Bad about peoples jobs, but the company deserves it.

Just read that BA are currently losing £2.6m each day and they're doing pretty well compared to some.

Can't get your money back if you booked direct with a debit card. Should be ok if you used a credit card or a travel agent.

Strange, I flew them to Cyprus this year and last year and both times there was absolutely no queue at Gatwick (unlike most other operators), the staff were friendly and I even got a free upgrade to 'business' class the last time as for some reason they used one of their bigger planes for the outgoing journey.

Shame.

Ironically, on BBC news this morning there was the story about XL going into administration, and then literally the next story they interviewed a football manager, and XL's logo was all over the ad board behind him.
