Positives in this...?

Not good if he has a male room-mate ;)

Nothing quite like a penis in the ear in the morning - very refreshing.

We realise that you may prefer to be in a single room, but unfortunately it has not been possible to place you in a single room this time. As you are in a double room please be aware that if the other person leaves at anytime during the year you will be liable to pay the single room rate for the room for the remainder of the year.

What the hell? I'm confused.... "the other person"?:eek:

Cork in your bum, tbh.

Can't be correct... right to privacy and all that.

I had a lot of friends who had double rooms. It can be good fun, the anti-social english just don't like the idea. The other guy is probably just as nervous that you're going to put your **** in his ear. He could be your best friend in 5 years, like JD and Turk in Scrubs.

id hate that at uni.

if the guys a knobber then your in for a nitemare

even if hes sound then it will still wont be great.

lack of personal time being the killer

Wanting privacy and the ability to sleep without fear of someone's aroused tool "accidentally" prodding your bum in the night is not really being anti-social?

I think the idea is pretty grim, really. I'd pay the extra to have the room to myself. Regardless of how far away their bed is from me.

EDIT: If they actually had to top & tail in a double bed, and the other guy was incontinent or prone to nocturnal discharges through lack of action, you'd be in severe trouble!

in my first year at swanswea i was in a double room( 14 years ago), and it was good fun. I had a different room mate (both from america) for each of the 2 semesters, and i'm still in contact with them now. made you be abit sociable.. downsides i guess would be bringin birds back to you room... but you either go to theirs.. and do it in a field somewhere.. or you could do it in the room with you room mate... unless you like sharing.... :p

if you despise the guy then you can always ask to be moved...

Im living in shared rooms and its fine. Have you ever been camping? Your room mate will probably have the same worries as you so just relax and take it as it comes, I'm sure youll get through it.

I'm pretty sure you're all confusing double room with a shared room.

Most of the places I've been to view when looking for a house say 'double room' and this simply relates to the size of the room and there being a double bed.

I really doubt you'll be sharing a room!
