Hi guys,

I have a BFG 8800GT OC2 I bought from OCUK at launch, and am considering putting a second in in SLi. However, they don't sell them anymore! Does anyone know what other cards would work at full speed in SLi with this one, or where I can get one? Perhaps someone needs to finance their upgrade to a 4870? ;)

Thanks in advance.

hmm interesting i am actually seriously thinking of getting a 280 and if i did would have a bfg 640m/b oc2 8800gts which i would not need

So if I got say the Asus one currently on sale: (link here) and put a decent cooler on it (or even left the one that's on, it looks pretty good) I could probably OC that to the same levels the BFG OC2 card is running at?

Oh and, do you think I should get a better cooler if I was to OC it? I was thinking of getting something like this Akasa one for the BFG anyway, as that can get noisy and hot.

Theoretically but I have heard ASUS force you to use their OCing tool which is iffy AFAIK. I'd say cheapest possible with Accelero S1.

gainward's expertool ironically will overclock the asus card fine...

What I did to run SLI with both cards clocked to the same level was use expertool to find the highest OC the card was stable at then use nbitor to write a custom bios with those clock settings and flash it to the card.

Ah, good to know it's a master/slave combination. However I'd quite like them both to run at the speed of the BFG OC2, or close to it.

I read a review of the Accelero S1 that it's not suited for the top card in an SLi solution because it's too big? Anyone able to comment on that?

The Leadtek looked like a good option, at 650Mhz from the box, plus it has a nice Zalman cooler on it already. Better option than the Asus? :)

Thanks for all your help guys, appreciate it

Theres a simple vga "mod" you can do with a paperclip to enable the second display if you only have 1... tho that won't work if you have a dual DVI card :D some people also say having a DVI2VGA adapter plugged in works but I've not tried that.

So can someone answer my post above, would the Leadtek card I linked to in my last post be a good match for the BFG, or would someone recommend a different 8800GT, for various reasons? Thanks :)
