Motorstorm Pacific Rift demo

I've been playing the demo allot more, I think I must have spent a good 3 hours solid on it tonight, I'll still stand by what I said in regards to the textures on the track being pretty poor and sparse but at the same time I am enjoying the demo more and more, it's definitely allot of fun.

Although the game thus far hasn't lived up to my expectations (being that it's an early demo doesn't help) it's still a day one purchase for me, I'm hoping the full game will grow on me over time like the demo has done.

I've just woken up and noticed this thread, rushed to check my inbox and I have indeed got a code to download the demo! :):D happy days.

I for some reason didn't like Motorstorm... I downloaded the demo of the first one a while ago, and couldn't play it for more than a few minutes :/ No idea why though, the game just "felt" terrible to me.

Got to agree with that. As a launch title it was appauling.

The demo wasnt much of a representation of the final game. You need to get use to the mechanics, after that the game is quality.

What didnt you like about it? Only thing I didnt like was no multiplayer, and maybe could have done with a few more tracks.

tryed it yesterday pretty much same as the first with marginally better gfx them screens above dont do it justice, mates going mad because he never got an email and he loves the the first game and i just got bored of it very quickly lol,but i wouldnt say its a bad game for what it was.

i thought Motorstorm was an excellent launch game, had it shortfalls as do most games, but gameplay wise was brilliant. Goes to prove tastes and opinions differ vastly and thats what makes us all human.

I thought it was the best launch title. It had a lot of things that could have been better but it's still an enjoyable game to play on. I don't know why Motorstorm 2 is looking significantly worse, maybe it's because they are putting in 4 player splitscreen and need to cater for the lowest common denominator?

The geometry in Motorstorm 2 looks terrible as well, compared to the first game. It's not just the textures that are lacking.

Im downloading the demo now. I loved motorstorm enough to complete it which was frustrating and rewarding. I will find it hard to believe that this isnt much of a bump up from the original at retail.

So much has changed dev wise for the ps3, more memory to play with, better understanding on how to use cell etc. And im really surprised at the demo size which Im hoping explains the not so great graphics people are complaining about

I'm too lazy to turn my ps3 on, infact, I haven't turned it on all week. Is the demo available to everyone or just suckers(Qore subscribers).

I think its available to people who filled in that beta testing application. In the US you need to be subscribed to qore, in the UK they are handing out keys for free.

I didnt even fill out a beta test form lol. They just sent me a code. Dont like it myself.

Definitely agree that they should have used a different track. Does not show off any of the new gameplay mechanics. Graphics are definitely an improvement except for the flat track but playing the game you do not notice this and the game looks good. I can only hope the retail is an improvement texture wise for the tracks and Im looking forward to checking out the other tracks

I like the demo but the track they used just seems like more of the same... the video clip they show before the demo starts though looks like it has quite a varied variety of tracks and terrains so I'm still looking forward to the game.

Well by the looks of these comparison pic's it looks like the Qore demo (the one that everyone is currently playing) was an early build,
