Morning Folks.

After battling away for the last 12 months with my P35-DQ6 Gigabyte board forgetting its overclocking settings every 3 or 4 weeks, i've finally had enough and looking to upgrade the CPU (Q6600) and the mobo.

As usual, Im struggling to find a board. (DDR2). What tends to happen is i read a good review on say board Z and then find 400 postings in a forum slagging it off. I appreciate there are always 'glitches' with systems as everybodies setup is different. So Im looking for recommendations of boards

- that have no serious flaws (aka the DQ6 i currently have)
- Support DDR2 (2x1GB, 2x2GB)
- Intel Matrix Raid (I need it to see my existing RAID array)
- Support a Q9450 CPU, as this will be purchased as well
- Recommedations for a decent air cooler
- Looking to overclock to around 3.4 to 3.7 (as per reviews)
- Why a board X is better than board Y

Currently I've narrowed it down to a DFI Lan Party LT X48-T2R Intel X48 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard. I've got another rig with a DFI LanParty SLI-DR (S939) running my old AMD FX55 and has been for years. So Im happy with choosing DFI, as I've had no trubs with this board at all.

Thanks in advance

From what I've read that board has the older ICH9R southbridge whereas some of the asus boards have the newer ICH10R
