Call of Duty 4 - the single player is rather good o.O

Pretty much the title.

I have had it ages via steam, but only played a little multi player, but since I got my new graphics card I felt like trying it out.

I must say so far I am very impressed indeed... it is making a nice break from WOW actually

Call me stupid but i liked that it was short because never once did i think, hmm i'm tired/bored, the game was brilliantly paced and actually had an interesting story.(Captain Price legend)

I played this through on the xbox and i thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great game, i loved cod 1 and 2 aswell. Stalingrad was jawdropping when i first seen it years back

I've got it for PC and 360 but only ever played single player once when I accidentally loaded it up. Haven't played more than 10 seconds of single player

I wouldnt say so. The campaigns flow nicely, the graphics are good and it draws people in nicely.

I dont see anything bad about it as far as FPS go.

what makes it over rated?

It is an excellent single player, the only real problem is the infinite spawning enemies until you move forward. I have always liked clearing things out before moving on but I just couldn't in that game

An old(ish) style of gameplay doesn't necessarily make it bad, in this case, its very fun. Scripted gameplay isn't bad, make for a very cinematic game, with tight gameplay. I take it you didn't like HL2 for the same reason?

its good but its massively overrated for sure the respawning enemies are a joke and don't get me started on the nade spam on the harder difficulties

Overrated is Crysis, this is an amzing game. Margaret to call it boring when you play MMO's means you need your head checking

Admittedly the respawning enemies was a bit crap, but other than that i think i have a soft spot of FPS on rails where i know what im doing, and get to follow / be part of a story

I agree with the too scripted comments, but overall it's a very good game. Got bored of the multiplayer pretty quick though.
