Heya, first of all i am new to the forums. After reading them for months i thought i should join up! So to all the people in the Warhammer beta, i have some questions about the game.

1. Does the game turn nighttime when it is night in real life, like WoW?
2. How much of the game is instanced? Is it as open as WoW?
3. Is the game as smooth as WoW?

I think that is all really :-) Would appreciate answers since i am not sure whether to buy it or not, i am seeing mixed opinions.

Thanks :)

1. It has a day and night cycle but not a 24hour one like in WoW, so it wont necessarily be day when its day and night when its night

2. Its as open as WoW

3. Animation wise , not really, Blizzards animators are top notch.

Not sure if the previous two posters have played since the patch but I find the animation okay. It's not the best yet but it's not even out so very hard to judge.

The graphics are certainly better than WoW's (as you might expect from a four year old engine). Depending on which side you play as well the atmosphere is superb.

It is very addictive when you start understanding the Public Quests (PQ's) and RvR stuff.

Is it likely the animations may improve a lot come launch?

Probably over time, but I wouldnt expect it immediately at launch. Initially they will want the servers up nicely and any game mechanic glitches that turn up sorted.

I've played since the latest patches, but the question was is it as smooth as WoW, to which the only answer can be no (animation wise), thats not saying the animations are poor, simply that they arent quite where WoWs are yet.

They're constantly improving. I was testing melee earlier and noticed that the shield was actually blocking the blows (you could see the sword hitting my shield) so it's not bad now. It's certainly not a reason to get the game.

And would you say the game is going to do well? Is it going to be a great game? Is it going to be another Conan? Just want your personal opinions

Difficult to say , because my personal opinion only applies to me and as everyone is different I may like it and the next person might not.

However, to answer your questions.

I think the game is going to do very well indeed, I think its already a great game and has been for a while in beta. Its not in anyway going to be another Conan, for a start its got an endgame and pvp, which we as testers were allowed to test properly.

As I say though, those are my personal views, wont apply to everyone. There will be people who think its awful and will die a death :)

Oh another question...How responsive is the game? E.g. When i click an attack, does it do it properly, nice and smooth?

Again, mixed opinions on this, some say its responsive enough others say it isnt. I find it acceptable myself

Does it feel like you have just done an attack on somebody when you do it?

No idea, I've never attacked anyone in reality so I have no idea what it feels like in order to compare :D

Ingame, I swing my weapon, they get hit, they lose health. As long as its their health going down instead of mine, thats good enough for me :D

Well performance wise it's capped at 100 instead of 60 like WoW, but where WoW runs at 60fps at all times WAR will vary between 40-100! Depending on your machine and where you are in the game ofc :)

Im looking forward to it to be honest, the beta has been fun, and although Ive only been to a couple of areas, if they are as good then it could be an amazing game.

How cartoony does it look in comparison to the early trailers? I know AoC is pretty hated but it does look so much less cartoony than WoW. Where would War be in comparison to the two?

Thx

I find WAR to be between WoW and AoC. More like a cross between WoW and DAoC

PQ's are awesome!
RvR was terrible though, there were always 3-4 times as many on the other team :/

Also i do think that there are some instances? At least i encountered a sewer portal in a big city, wasn't high enough level to enter but it looked like an instance?
