Need motorbike suggestions for daily commute.

Just to say I got a bike in the end...no one recommended it, but I got a vfr 800.

Still not passed my test or in fact booked, as its all been jammed packed so I've had to wait till I start my new job (next monday) and ask for time off and get direct access booked.

Bit dirty:

Nice Bike. At least you bought the best VFR :D The latter VTEC one is rubbish

A Tame supermoto woudl be perfect i think

*Upright position
*high up so can see over cars
*Not a lot to damage if dropped
*wide handle bars so easier to control and slow speeds
*a thumper has very good torque and easy to maintain

the VFR is anice bike and should serve you well. Personally I find Honda seem to engineer the soul out of a bike though.

I went to look at a Street Triple today with aview to swapping the Gsxr750 for something a bit more comfy. The dealer offered me just £3800 for my mint k5, explaining that he didn't have to offer me a good deal because the street is in such high demand, -and then said that Triumph have put the price up by £400, despite telling me earlier on the phone that it was £5450. When you add in the additional cost for the flyscreen and belly pan, both of which are needed really, it's now well over £6000 so not the middleweight bargain it seems.

Decided to keep the 750 and buy some Helibars and downgrad itacouple of teeth. I haven't been able to ride the Street yet but I doubt it's stronger than the GSXR and it's built to a budget so might start getting abut jaded after 10k miles.

Overall though I really didn't like the smug dealer, so even if I decide to buy a new bike it probably wouldn't be a triumph now

although you will be pleased to hear the new style motorbike test has been postponed by 6 months so there should be lots of schools with capacity in October when everyone thought the new test would be in place.

Yea he does sound like a crap dealer :/ theyre still around £5500 at the triumph dealer I know, even the Street Triple R is supposed to be around £6k and thats a much better bike.

Its nowhere near stronger than the 750, but its still bloody good fun to ride, the throttle is snatchy I find thats my worst annoyance with the Street Triple that and the spongy front end, if I was to have one myself it would have to be the R version with better front suspension.
But it still goes very well for a naked bike, up to 130 no problem, probably just the torque but it felt faster to 130 than any of the sportsbike 600's ive had a go on recently.

To me personally the Street Triple is the only bike I would consider downgrading for on the road, plenty of power for the road and sounds amazing with Zard Exhausts :D but I love my sportsbikes and the Track to much :p
