Don't think so. You just have to say your new to the game when it asks you, then it allows you to create a multiplayer alias.

I've been throught this with their support, there is an issue with some accounts, and whatever you type in it won't let you have it.

The support guy had to elevate it to get it sorted so I told him not to bother.
