Hi guys, got about £250 quid to spend, think im gonna get this:

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/pro...s_id/5932.html

First of all is that a good / well balanced package? And is that the right subwoofer for the amp to output at 500W? the amp can output 500W at 2 ohms, but the sub in the package is the 4-ohm one. there are 2 and 4 ohm options for the type-r, which one do i need to use the amp and output at 500W? i dont understand impedance at all hence the lame question!

Also, anybody know any good installers in the NW london region?

cheers

I have that sub and wiring kit, makes a good sound. The amp I haven't used to can't comment but I imagine it would all sound pretty good!

According to the amp specs it will output 300W RMS (which is bloody loads) into 4 ohms.

The sub is rated at between 200 and 500W RMS (which is odd, you usually get just one single figure), but is only an 85dB speaker.

This similarly priced JBL speaker is rated at 97dB, and also 400W RMS. As such, it will be about 4 times as loud as the sub in your package, running off the same amp.

ok so the amp and sub will connect correctly if all done at 2 ohms to give 500W; now i dont know if i should go ported or not! havent had a chance to hear the difference between ported/sealed boxes. i want deep bass but i dont know if a sealed can go deep enough to how i want it, it probably will but i dont know if i should fork out for one and go for a ported. is there much difference between the two in sound quality/bass?
