The badges on the boot of the Volvo have lost their silver coating and look quite tatty. Since the rest of the car has come up so well i'd like to either recondition them somehow (??) or just replace them.

Where would i get new ones from?

How do you get the old ones off without ruining the paint?

Ta :)

I could just debadge it, but i think it would look better with them on. Certainly the Volvo and 850 ones.

Assuming they aren't "through" the bodywork, with pegs/screws/pins, and are just stuck on with tape, I find the simplest way is fishing line, behind the badge to cut the tape. Clean up the remaining tape on the bodywork, and then apply new badges.

New badges from the dealership are (in all cases i've come across) cheaper at the dealer than anywhere else (including ebay).

Yep, fishing line behind the badge, "sawing" through the glue, then just peel off and replace.

Volvo dealer - seriously. Not expensive.

Volvo wanted £20 each for them, but i got a pair that are significantly better than mine for a fiver from the local scrappy :)

Thanks for the replies, what do I use to stick them on with?

£30 for a rear Type-R badge for me :(

Might just fix it with red nail varnish instead.

Honda badges have a double sided tape-like adhesive from the factory. Heat-up both the back of the badge and the panel before applying.
