Wah, didn't know this thing existed. Is it any good though? I'm looking to change my Freezer 7 Pro. Looks bloody massive.

i don't know how good it is, i saw it on a diefferent site i was looking for a good cooler for mine, so posted the link to the companies site instead of a competitors site as OverClockers don't seem to have it.

but it does look good.

anyone has http://www.arctic-cooling.com/cpu2.php?idx=162&disc= or similar, are they good coolers??

Its been on the cards for over 1 year and keep getting put back for some reason, its now put back again and will be hopefully end of this month (I think its Sep or Oct).

The freezer extreme is supposed to be the better of the two.
I read somewhere that it is supposed to compete with the tuniq tower, as well it kinda of looks like it and kinda same spec.
But like the arctic freezer 7 it is meant to be a decent budget cooler.

I've just read that the Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro PWM is only good with CPU's upto the AMD Athlon 64 X2 - up to 5000+, But i'm using the AMD Athlon 6400+, so i guess i'm going to need something better than that one. hopefully the xtreme will be here soon and good enough.

Yip that cooler is too small, I used the Freezer64 on a AMD 6000+ at launch and it ran hotter than I would like at idle which meant the 90mm fan had to run 100% all the time and they are a bit noisy.

You want 120mm cooling today IMO esp if you OC.

so the freezer xtreme would be a good cooler for it then?
Main Features:

• Unmatched cooling performance – 160 Watts
• Unique twin tower 102-fin heat sink design
• Effective heat dissipation via 4 double-sided heatpipes
• 1 ultra quiet 120mm PWM fan******
• Patented fan holder eliminates the buzzing sounds
• Voltage regulators and north bridge cooling
• Pre-applied MX-2
• 6 Years Warranty

For your hot CPU any good 120mm cooler like a True 120 / Tuniq or Noctua will do the job.

i think any non-stock cooler will be better than my current one is. i'm still using the stock cooler from my AMD athlon 3200+ single core.
so i think i will go with the freezer Xtreme when it finally arives in some online stores.

I would not use stock with a AMD6000+ or above, and after that 1 build for a customer with the Freezer64 it was only 120mm Coolers.

Now I use Intel anyhow as I don't like the Mobos for the AMD now after the 590I NF's.
